Music held at the British Music Information Centre (BMIC), now moved to the Royal College of Music (RCM) Library

This page shows the results of a search for performing parts and scores of works by Foulds on the BMIC's Online Database in 2003, and listed here, tidied, for convenience. Nothing as yet has been confirmed personally. The Foulds collection, along with those of all British composers who died before 1960, has been moved to the Royal College of Music in London. My last contect concerning the collection was with Peter Horton. Although the RCM's website and library catalogue do not reflect their acquisition yet, this is due to change in time, and the BMIC's catalogue may be used as a guide prior to contacting the library. The BMIC collection is arranged by genre then alphabetically by composer (e.g. vocal scores > composers A-C; piano music > composers F-G); the library retains a database printout they can show you on arrival, but the boxes of music need to be fetched, so prior notice is advised. The library is located in the basement, so it is best to ask directions from the security guard in the front hall of the building when you ask for a security pass.

Points to note:

1. The [] after the title is labelled the "subtitle" (presumably what has been printed on the published copy in the Centre's posession) which sometimes gives alternative title, the section of the work published (if relevant) or revision note.

2. Many of the works are collections of parts only.

3. At the bottom of the page are listed the contact details the BMIC displays for the publishers credited here. However, since the beginning of 2010 all works listed that have been published (and where there is no publisher information this is not confirmed!) are out of copyright by UK law. This means that you may obtain copies (their photocopier charged 5p for an A4 copy when I visited in 2010.07) of these items with RCM's approval but without permission from the publisher. However, these copies are from RCM/BMIC collection items so any distribution subsequently (uploading to the web, re-publication, etc.) must be done only with permission.

4. As yet unverified, where it is indicated that the composer is the publisher, the work is presumably either self-published or in manuscript.

N.B. The data above was updated 2010.09, but I have some additional annotations still to make for some of the works I saw on my visit this year.
